As I think back on my drinking days I remember the frustration of various people around me who wanted to help.  I now better realize the inherent challenge they faced: not being alcoholics they didn’t realize the depth of the problem.  If you’re trying to help an alcoholic and feeling frustrated by a seeming lack of success here’s a simple test: “try not  breathing for 5 minutes”.  As God is my witness there were many times in my life that I would have thought it easier to not breath for 5 minutes than not drink for the next 10 seconds.

I don’t offer this to condone the continued drinking of an alcoholic or ask anyone to feel sorry for them.  I offer it only so that someone wanting to help another may get a better insight into “what you’re/they’re truly up against”.   Most of all I want to offer hope: I went from not thinking I could resist alcohol for 10 seconds to NOT DRINKING FOR 25+ YEARS.  It can be done.  Don’t give up!  But don’t beat yourself up either!

I am writing this message to other parents or loved ones of an addict. My message to you is Don’t Give Up!

I could have given up a million times on my heroin addicted daughter.  I honestly didn’t believe I would live to see the day that she would be drug free.

My daughter’s drug use started with smoking marijuana and skipping school when she was 13 years old.  At that time she was rebelling and asking for more freedom to be with her friends.  For the next 13 years she gradually turned into an intravenous heroin user.

I tried the Addiction Detox as a desperate attempt to save her life.

Within 48 hours I saw a change in her that I had not seen in years.  This detox was different. She did not have the leg cramps, tremors, stomach cramps diarrhea, or restlessness. She experienced some minor sweating – and that was it.  But, that’s not all! She did NOT have the cravings for the drugs.

This is a girl that injected herself several times a day for years!

I am so pleased to tell you that she is still clean and we have a beautiful relationship.  I believe the addiction detox method is the answer we have all been waiting for.

It is very sad that this detox system has remained unknown for so long – likely because the pharmaceutical industry urged the FDA to approve methadone as replacement drug for heroin users, resulting in economic disincentive for a cure to addiction.
