Zephyr Teachout, a candidate for state attorney general, said on Friday she wants to strengthen a state law used to litigate abuses by Wall Street firms so as to further empower victims alleging fraud and the Attorney General’s Office in those cases.

Teachout’s proposal comes on the heels of a public debate this week between Democrats running for attorney general over who would be the strictest monitor of abuses by those firms, or the “Sheriff of Wall Street.”
