A five-lawyer team has left leading North Carolina firm Smith Moore Leatherwood to join 500-lawyer Am Law 200 shop Bradley Arant Boult Cummings as it seeks to expand its operations in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Bradley Arant, which has sought to rebrand itself as Bradley, announced Tuesday that a handful of litigators, led by Smith Moore Leatherwood’s former Charlotte office leader Robert Marcus and partner C. Bailey King Jr., a former head of the local firm’s litigation group in the same Sunbelt city, had agreed to join its ranks.
