Clarksville native Bashaara Graves was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx in last year's WNBA Draft. She played overseas in Korea and Isreal and signed a training camp contract with the Indiana Fever Thursday.

Just days after former Northeast High great Alex Poythress signed a two-way contract with the Indiana Pacers, another former Clarksville area legend is getting another shot at pro basketball.

Bashaara Graves has been signed by the WNBA's Chicago Sky for the remainder of the season, according to the Sky's web site.

The former Clarksville High great originally signed a seven-day contract with the Sky Aug. 3. She was re-signed Aug. 10 while averaging 2.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in about 11 minutes a game for Chicago.

This current move guarantees Graves the remainder of the Sky's schedule that includes five games. The Sky travel to face the Connecticut Sun on Friday. Chicago is 11-18 and sits in fourth place, out of five teams, in the Eastern Conference.

The 6-foot-2 forward starred at Tennessee and was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx in the second round in 2016. She signed a training camp deal with the Indiana Fever last February.

Graves has also played professionally overseas in Israel and South Korea.

Last year, Graves became the first female basketball player from Clarksville High to have her number retired.
